Job Overview

A well-regarded law firm based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Transactional Associate Attorney. This role provides the opportunity to work across various transactional disciplines, including estate planning, business formation, asset protection, and related legal services. The position involves direct client engagement, collaborative case handling, and an emphasis on delivering a seamless legal experience from start to finish. Duties

  • Handle legal matters related to estate planning, business setup (LLCs, incorporations), nonprofit formation, and intellectual property issues

  • Represent clients during mediations, hearings, and depositions when necessary

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare materials for proceedings

  • Participate in internal case strategy reviews and team-based training sessions

  • Communicate effectively with clients through various channels (in-person, phone, virtual)

  • Maintain exceptional client service standards throughout the case lifecycle

  • Manage a dynamic workload involving multiple simultaneous matters

  • Ensure thorough documentation and procedural compliance in all cases

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. state with good standing

  • Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and written communication

  • Experience managing multiple transactional matters across different practice areas

  • Proficiency in client interaction, with a service-driven approach

  • High standards of professional ethics and confidentiality

  • Familiarity with or interest in practice development is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required

  • Preference for coursework or internships focused on estates, business law, or IP

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the United States

  • North Carolina Bar admission is preferred
