A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Patent Agent (Immunology/Virology) with a Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology and a minimum of 3 years of experience prosecuting patents in the immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials and be admitted to practice before the USPTO.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the fields of immunotherapy, gene therapy, cell therapy, and related areas
  • Respond to office actions and communicate with patent examiners
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes
  • Assist in preparing legal opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement
  • Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to develop patent strategies
  • Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent appeals, interferences, and reexaminations
  • Stay updated on developments in immunology, virology, and patent law
  • Provide technical and legal support to clients on patent-related matters

 

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology
  • 3+ years of experience prosecuting patents in the immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO
