Insurance Coverage Associate

Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with 5–8 years of experience to join its Seattle-based insurance coverage practice. This role provides an excellent opportunity to handle sophisticated national and regional matters involving complex and often high-stakes coverage issues. The successful candidate will work alongside an accomplished team of coverage attorneys on unique matters across a wide array of insurance lines.

Location:

• Seattle, WA

Duties:

• Advise insurance clients on complex coverage issues involving multiple lines of insurance

• Analyze and interpret policy language to evaluate coverage

• Draft coverage opinions, position letters, and litigation-related documents

• Represent clients in litigation involving bad faith, professional liability, casualty, property, specialty products, and reinsurance

• Participate in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings as needed

• Collaborate with a national team on multi-jurisdictional matters

Requirements:

• 5–8 years of substantive insurance coverage experience

• Strong analytical and legal writing skills

• Prior litigation experience required

• Admission to the Washington State Bar (required)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Washington

Skills:

• Expertise in evaluating first- and third-party insurance coverage

• Advanced legal research and writing capabilities

• Ability to manage complex legal projects with minimal supervision

• Effective communication and client service orientation
