Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated First Party Coverage Attorney to join their dynamic team. This is a hybrid, full-time, permanent position located in Seattle, WA. Ideal candidates will possess solid experience in first-party property, bad faith, and insurance coverage litigation, demonstrating excellent legal research, writing, and case management skills. Duties:

  • Handle first-party property and bad-faith insurance coverage litigation.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and other legal documents.

  • Manage and coordinate cases from inception to resolution.

  • Take and defend depositions, conduct legal research, and prepare for hearings.

  • Represent clients in court, including making appearances and handling trials.

  • Engage in client communications and provide strategic legal counsel.

  • Assist in the development of business strategies, including client relationships and business development initiatives.

  • Collaborate with team members across offices to ensure a high standard of service.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in Washington State.

  • Additional Bar admissions in other states are a plus.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in first-party coverage and bad-faith litigation.

  • Strong academic background and excellent writing abilities.

  • Proven experience in managing litigation in both state and federal courts.

  • Ability to handle complex cases with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Washington State Bar is required.

  • Additional Bar admissions are a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.

  • Case management experience in both state and federal courts.

  • Expertise in drafting legal documents and motions.

  • Experience in handling depositions and court appearances.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

  • Client-facing experience and business development acumen.
