Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in New York, NY. This role requires strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with a focus on civil litigation. The ideal candidate will excel in both independent and collaborative environments, possessing a solid understanding of federal and state court procedures.

Duties

  • Manage caseload from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy.
  • Provide clients with status updates and interim written reports.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably defense.
  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Experience in taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions.
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
