A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Environmental Litigation Associate Attorney for their Los Angeles office. The Mid-level Environmental Litigation Associate Attorney will play a key role in the firm's environmental litigation practice, focusing on deep federal court experience across the United States. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials and top-notch legal research, analysis, and writing skills. Prior experience in a sophisticated law firm environment and/or judicial clerkship experience is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex environmental litigation matters, with a focus on CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) and large Superfund sites.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on environmental compliance and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on all aspects of litigation, from case strategy to trial preparation.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental litigation.
  • Deep experience in federal court litigation across the United States.
  • Focus on CERCLA and large Superfund sites.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Demonstrated top-notch legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
  • Prior experience in a sophisticated law firm environment and/or judicial clerkship preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters independently.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in legal analysis and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
