Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in West Des Moines, IA. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse range of cases, including professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, personal injury, and various other areas. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, with a preference for those with experience in insurance defense or general civil litigation.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing cases, conducting legal research and writing, handling depositions, and meeting deadlines. The candidate should be a self-starter with practical and technical experience, seeking to benefit from the support and reputation of a respected law firm.

Duties:

• Handle a variety of cases, including professional negligence defense, insurance disputes, and personal injury.
• Conduct legal research and writing to support cases.
• Manage cases from inception to resolution.
• Conducted depositions and participated in civil jury trials as first or second chair.
• Meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of legal tasks.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of litigation experience.
• Preferred experience in insurance defense or general civil litigation.
• Proven experience in legal research, writing, and case management.
• Ability to conduct depositions and participate in civil jury trials as first or second chair.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar.
