A law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will work closely with other attorneys on legal projects, regularly handle court appearances and depositions, and communicate effectively with clients to provide status reports. This role requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Alabama.

 

Job Overview

The Litigation Attorney will be a crucial member of the legal team, managing a caseload of litigation matters and providing legal counsel to clients. They will play an integral role in representing clients in court proceedings and depositions.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court filings.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, and depositions.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates on case developments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Alabama.
  • 2+ years of insurance defense litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience with general liability and workers' compensation cases is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Superior research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
