Senior Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in practice areas, including Labor and Employment, Professional Liability, Class & Collective Actions, and Commercial & Business Litigation. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including legal research, drafting pleadings, deposition work, discovery processes, case trial preparations, and trial assistance. The Senior Associate Attorney should possess a deep understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures, strong organizational skills for managing a diverse caseload, and excellent writing abilities to effectively communicate with the court, clients, and opposing counsel.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Prepare responses to discovery requests and draft discovery requests for opposing parties.
• Assist in preparing cases for trial, including gathering evidence, managing exhibits, and coordinating with witnesses.
• Provide trial support, which may include witness preparation and assistance during the trial.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
• Proficiency in the practice areas of Labor and Employment, Professional Liability, Class & Collective Actions, and Commercial & Business Litigation.
• Strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively.
• Excellent writing skills to communicate persuasively with the court, clients, and opposing counsel.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar admission in the State of Illinois.
