Associate Attorney

A law firm in Boston is seeking an Associate Attorney with a background in the biological sciences and a focus on intellectual property matters in life sciences. The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred or M.S. with industry experience), be registered to practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and preferably be admitted to the State Bar in Massachusetts. Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to cutting-edge technologies in life sciences.
• Conduct patent validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Support IP due diligences, patent litigations, and post-grant proceedings (IPR, PGR, interferences).
• Provide legal advice on intellectual property matters in the life sciences field.
• Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop strategic solutions.
• Take on significant responsibility in legal research and analysis.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of substantive experience in intellectual property law.
• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S.) in biological sciences.
• Registration to practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Admission to a State Bar, preferably in Massachusetts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education:
