A law firm in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional academic and professional credentials, strong research and writing skills, and excellent analytical and communication abilities. This role involves managing cases and maintaining organizational efficiency while working with multiple cases and tight deadlines. Clerkship experience is preferred, and experience in class action and consumer financial services litigation is a valuable asset. Candidates must be members in good standing of the Virginia Bar and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Duties:

  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities for a portfolio of litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and development.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Prepare for and participate in court proceedings, hearings, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and execute litigation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate case records and manage case-related deadlines.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of litigation experience.
  • Excellent academic and professional credentials.
  • Superior research and writing ability.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple cases and competing deadlines.
  • Clerkship experience (preferred).
  • Experience in class action and consumer financial services litigation (a plus).
  • Membership in good standing with the Virginia Bar.
  • Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
