A law firm in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to work closely with senior attorneys in Trusts & Estates matters and receive training in Estate Planning document drafting.


Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to develop a broad working knowledge of Trusts & Estates law while receiving training in drafting Estate Planning documents. They will also assist as "second chair" on Probates, Trust Administration, and Conservatorships, while working closely with clients to provide legal counsel.

 

Duties:

  • Work closely with senior attorneys on a variety of Trusts & Estates matters.
  • Receive training on drafting Estate Planning documents, such as Trusts, Wills, and Powers of Attorney.
  • Act as "second chair" on Probates, Trust Administration, and Conservatorships.
  • Explain legal concepts and provide counsel to clients.
  • Draft Estate Planning documents and other legal pleadings.
  • Make court appearances as necessary.
  • Prepare notices and communicate with beneficiaries and heirs.
  • Prepare deeds and assessor forms.
  • Stay organized and monitor the status of assigned matters.
  • Research statutes, cases, and administrative rulings.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • 1-3 years of legal experience.
  • Some experience in Trusts and Estates law preferred.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
