Job Overview:
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a 2nd to 4th year Associate Attorney to join its Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity practice group. This position will play a central role in handling cybersecurity incident response and advising clients on complex privacy and data protection matters. The role is suited for attorneys passionate about emerging technologies and cybersecurity regulation who are ready to take on significant responsibility in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the firm.

Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Advise clients on cybersecurity incidents and regulatory investigations

  • Provide guidance on best practices and legal compliance related to privacy and data protection

  • Support clients in technology transactions, M&A, and strategic corporate deals from a cybersecurity standpoint

  • Assist cybersecurity companies with compliance related to threat intelligence and security research

  • Monitor and interpret developments in cybersecurity law and regulatory trends

  • Draft data security policies, incident response plans, and risk assessments

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of experience in privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, or related legal practice

  • Background in incident response, cybersecurity investigations, or counseling is highly valued

  • Experience working with technology-driven or innovation-focused clients is beneficial

  • Government agency experience in cybersecurity or privacy is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Superior academic performance required

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of intended office location

  • CIPP or other privacy-related certifications are a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and legal research abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters with efficiency and professionalism

  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to client service

  • Keen interest in technology, cybersecurity law, and regulatory frameworks
