A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law or commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and demonstrate top-notch legal research, analysis, and writing abilities. Experience litigating employment, civil rights, or commercial matters in both state and federal courts is required. Knowledge of state and federal wage & hour and employment laws is preferred. Candidates licensed outside of Illinois will be required to be admitted to the Illinois State Bar within one year of starting with the firm.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to labor and employment matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation in both state and federal courts
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on labor and employment law issues
  • Assist with investigations into employment-related complaints
  • Handle matters related to state and federal wage & hour laws
  • Stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on cases
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law or commercial litigation
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar (active and in good standing), or eligibility to be admitted within one year
  • Strong academic background
  • Top-notch legal research, analysis, and writing abilities
  • Experience litigating employment, civil rights, or commercial matters in state and federal courts
  • Knowledge of state and federal wage & hour and employment laws preferred
