Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance associate in Portland, OR, to join its project finance team within the corporate practice group. The role focuses on debt and tax equity financings and related development and transactional work for renewable energy and energy transition assets, including solar, wind, storage, and related infrastructure.

Duties

  • Support construction and term debt facilities and tax credit monetization transactions.
  • Assist in financing transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures of projects and platforms.
  • Draft financing agreements, security documents, and related deal documents.
  • Execute due diligence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • JD and active bar membership in good standing; ability to gain admission where required.
  • Three to five years of experience in debt and tax equity project finance and M&A.
  • Experience supporting transactions, managing timelines, and facilitating closings.
  • Familiarity with tax equity structures and partnership tax concepts.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and project management skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management and client-focused service.
