Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A well-established, multi-state law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Boston office. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in general litigation and/or insurance coverage, and be admitted to practice in Massachusetts. Duties

• Evaluate and assess new case files to develop action plans and litigation budgets

• Prepare pleadings, discovery responses, and manage document production

• Attend and report on depositions, hearings, and other discovery events

• Negotiate settlements and secure necessary authority for resolution

• Prepare for trial proceedings as needed

• Communicate regularly with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members

• Contribute to client strategy and legal planning in insurance defense and general litigation matters

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in litigation and/or insurance coverage

• Must be licensed to practice law in Massachusetts

• Licensure in additional New England states is a plus

• Ability to handle multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision

• Strong interpersonal skills for effective client and team communication

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active bar license in Massachusetts (required)

• Additional state bar admissions in New England (preferred)

Skills

• Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn internal database systems
