Jr/Mid-Level Risk Management & Insurance Associate

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate with 2–4 years of experience in risk management and insurance to join its complex litigation and dispute resolution team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of insurance-related legal matters, providing advisory and transactional support across key lines of coverage. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of legal professionals recognized for innovation and subject-matter depth. Recruitment is conducted on behalf of the hiring firm.

Location:

• Boston, MA

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel on risk management and insurance issues

• Negotiate and place insurance programs, including customized insurance solutions

• Oversee claims monitoring and management activities

• Advise on multiple coverage lines, including:

  • Directors & Officers (D&O)

  • Errors & Omissions (E&O)

  • Cyber insurance

  • Transactional risk insurance

• Act as an internal resource on complex insurance-related challenges

• Draft and review legal and insurance-related documents

• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups and offices

• Contribute to developing innovative legal strategies for insurance matters

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of legal experience in insurance law, risk management, or litigation

• Familiarity with core insurance coverage principles

• Understanding of the U.S. insurance market landscape

• Ability to manage complex tasks independently and as part of a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Creative thinking and problem-solving mindset

• Interest in building deep subject-matter expertise in insurance law

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic background

Certifications:

• Active bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain admission promptly

Skills:

• Legal research, writing, and analysis

• Client counseling and negotiation

• Drafting of contracts and insurance-related documents

• Strategic thinking and attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities

• Proficiency in managing multi-jurisdictional legal matters
