Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2+ years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house and portfolio management expertise. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge in optics, acoustics, video and audio signal processing, codecs, virtual/augmented reality, microscopy systems, and imaging techniques. Additionally, experience in software and AI is highly desirable.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Manage patent portfolios for clients, ensuring comprehensive protection of intellectual property assets.
  • Perform patent analysis and provide opinions of counsel.
  • Participate in Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings when necessary.
  • Stay updated on relevant patent laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optics, Physics, or Biomedical (with an electrical or software focus).
  • 2+ years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house.
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio management.
  • Preference for experience in optics, acoustics, video and audio signal processing, codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and microscopy systems and imaging techniques.
  • Experience in software and AI is a plus.
  • Graduate-level experience or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • Admission to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is advantageous.
