Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Energy Regulatory Senior Associate/Associate in Washington. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in transactional or litigation matters within the energy, utility, or pipeline sectors.

Duties

  • Prosecute administrative litigation and regulatory approvals.
  • Defend audit and enforcement actions for natural gas and liquid pipeline clients.
  • Negotiate purchase power agreements and electric trading agreements.
  • Provide regulatory compliance counseling and support for mergers and acquisitions.

 

Requirements

  • Experience with administrative litigation and client counseling before federal agencies.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or state agencies.

 

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

 

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

 

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex regulatory matters.
