Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney will primarily focus on patent prosecution and portfolio management, specializing in video processing and codecs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution and manage patent portfolios.
  • Provide counsel on patent analysis and opinions.
  • Participate in Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs) as needed.
  • Stay updated on video coding standards and technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Adapt to the firm's evolving needs and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in video processing and video codecs.
  • Familiarity with video coding standards.
  • Experience in virtual/augmented reality and AI is a plus.
  • Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Admission to the USPTO is a plus.
