A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a dedicated Labor and Employment Career Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience defending employers in employment-related litigation, including single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, as well as ERISA litigation. The role requires occasional in-office presence for meetings, depositions, and court appearances. The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent academic background, substantial experience in defending employment actions, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in litigation involving single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
  • Manage ERISA litigation cases, offering specialized legal advice on employee benefit plans.
  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case development and strategy.
  • Represent clients in depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in collaboration with clients.
  • Oversee and manage a diverse caseload, ensuring adherence to deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Keep abreast of updates in labor and employment law and related regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in employment litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in defending employers before administrative agencies and in court.
  • Strong academic credentials with in-depth knowledge of labor and employment law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle complex cases.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain admission.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and ERISA litigation.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and a varied caseload effectively.
