Job Overview

A nationally respected law firm is seeking an experienced Partner-level Employment Law Attorney to lead and expand its Employment Law Practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for a senior attorney ready to build and manage a high-performing legal team. The role combines litigation expertise, strategic planning, client development, and team management within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Practice & Case Management

  • Handle a docket of complex employment law matters, including:

    • Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour claims, FMLA, and compliance disputes

  • Represent corporate clients before state and federal courts, and agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL)

  • Advise clients proactively on employment regulations, compliance, and litigation risk

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Maintain and expand an active portfolio of employer clients

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and business development teams

  • Serve as a visible firm representative at legal panels, client events, and industry forums

Team Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Lead and manage a team of attorneys and legal professionals

  • Mentor junior attorneys and promote a culture of collaboration and growth

  • Participate in strategic planning and leadership meetings to guide practice expansion

Cross-Practice Collaboration

  • Partner with other firm practice groups (General Liability, Corporate, Labor & Employment)

  • Contribute to a client-centered, multi-disciplinary service approach

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the Florida Bar

  • Minimum 5 years of employment law defense experience, including litigation, counseling, and compliance

  • Experience managing attorneys or leading legal teams within a firm environment

  • Proven ability to generate or manage client business (a portable book of business is strongly preferred)
