Position Title: Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in Oakland, CA, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of skilled professionals in a dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment defense litigation, demonstrating the ability to handle cases involving various employment-related issues.

Duties:

  • Handle employment litigation cases, including those involving discrimination, harassment, wage & hour, and employment contracts.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies for cases, including drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Provide legal counsel on workplace matters such as employee relations, risk management, ADA compliance, employment agreements, and workplace policies.
  • Work independently on case management and legal research as required.
  • Collaborate with clients to mitigate risks and navigate employment-related legal matters.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of employment litigation experience, either on the defense or plaintiff's side.
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop case strategies and manage all aspects of litigation independently.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Law Review or Moot Court experience is a plus.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the California Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse clients and providing practical legal advice.
