Associate Attorney needed for Goshen office

A law firm in Goshen, NY is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of experience practicing law, primarily in the litigation and municipal law practice areas. The ideal candidate must be admitted to the New York State Bar Association and licensed to practice in NY. They should possess strong analytical skills, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and a keen ability to prioritize and manage assigned work portfolios. The Associate Attorney will work alongside accomplished partners and other attorneys to handle various litigation disputes, including general commercial litigation, estate and probate litigation, and landlord/tenant law. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of NYS City, Town, and Village Law is preferred for handling municipal law matters for local municipalities.

Duties:

• Work alongside partners and other attorneys to handle various litigation disputes, including general commercial litigation, estate and probate litigation, and landlord/tenant law.
• Prioritize and manage assigned portfolio of work efficiently.
• Assist clients in determining the best course of action for their cases.
• Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently with successful outcomes.
• Perform legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Make court appearances as necessary.
• Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met.
• Accurately record and maintain billable hours.

Requirements:

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar Association and licensed to practice in NY.
• 0-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in litigation and municipal law practice areas.
• Highly analytical with strong writing and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of NYS City, Town, and Village Law preferred.
