Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation Career Associate

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Career Associate to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This role is designed for an attorney with a strong foundation in complex litigation, particularly insurance coverage and bad faith matters. The position offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, including non-insurance litigation, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will bring strategic legal insight, independence, and a proactive approach to case management.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA

Duties:

• Litigate insurance coverage and bad faith cases

• Support other complex, non-insurance litigation matters

• Represent clients in California state and federal courts

• Draft motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and discovery documents

• Conduct legal research and provide case strategy recommendations

• Collaborate with legal teams while managing cases independently

• Ensure timely and effective case progression and resolution

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, including experience in insurance coverage and bad faith matters

• Strong familiarity with California state and federal court litigation procedures

• Preferred understanding of insurance coverage issues under general liability and property/casualty policies

• Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Demonstrated collaboration and team interaction skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license and in good standing with the California State Bar
