Job Overview:

The Criminal Defense Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel to clients facing criminal charges, represent them in court proceedings, and strategize to achieve favorable outcomes for their cases.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and options in criminal matters
  • Draft legal documents about clients' cases
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice
  • Manage court appearances, trials, and drafting motions
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses and perform legal research
  • Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents
  • Manage the workload of cases efficiently
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding potential case benefits
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge the prosecution's charges
  • Prepare clients for depositions and determine case strategy goals
  • Collaborate with fellow associates in strategizing and case management

Requirements:

  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player attitude
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing)
