Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Real Estate Attorney in Buffalo, NY. Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents for commercial real estate transactions.
  • Handle financing transactions, including mortgage refinances and lender documentation.
  • Negotiate commercial leases for both landlords and tenants.
  • Draft and negotiate easements and access agreements.
  • Prepare license agreements, including rooftop and cell tower access.
  • Draft opinion letters and advisory memos on real estate matters.
  • Assist with zoning and land use matters, attending relevant meetings.
  • Conduct legal research on municipal regulations and zoning ordinances.
  • Support due diligence and title review in transactions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on larger deals and initiatives.
  • Interact professionally with clients, property managers, and board members.
  • Attend community association board meetings to provide legal updates.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.
  • 3+ years of relevant real estate transactional experience.
  • Familiarity with community association law and zoning is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Client-focused with the ability to manage multiple matters.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State.
