The ideal candidate will contribute to the firm's intellectual property practice by leveraging their expertise in biotechnology, molecular biology, and related disciplines.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the biotech field, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Evaluate and analyze patent portfolios, providing strategic guidance to clients on intellectual property matters.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations related to biotech patents and intellectual property transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and provide legal advice accordingly.
  • Stay current with developments in biotech law and regulations to offer informed and proactive legal counsel.

Requirements:

  • Possess 3-8 years of relevant experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the biotech sector.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Prior experience in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent academic credentials demonstrating a strong background in biotech and intellectual property law.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

Certifications:

  • Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills:

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward.
