Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough case evaluations and formulate strategic action plans and budgets

  • Manage pleadings and delegate appropriate tasks to paralegals or support staff

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, oversee document production

  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and other litigation events, providing detailed reporting

  • Engage in settlement discussions and manage negotiation processes

  • Prepare cases for trial, including securing necessary authorizations

  • Maintain ongoing communication with legal assistants and litigation support staff

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience practicing law, with preference for civil or insurance defense litigation

  • Active license to practice law in Mississippi

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently

  • Comfortable handling a high-volume caseload in a team-oriented environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Mississippi State Bar (required)
