A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a qualified Patent Agent with expertise in Intellectual Property (IP), specifically in drafting and patent prosecution. The ideal candidate should possess a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Experience in design engineering with a chip company is advantageous, and preference will be given to candidates with knowledge in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar areas. Applicants must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and have 2-6 years of legal experience.

Duties:

  • Draft and prepare patent applications across various technological domains.
  • Engage in patent prosecution activities, including responding to Office Actions.
  • Conduct thorough prior art searches and patentability assessments.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to develop patent strategies.
  • Provide technical support during patent litigation proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of legal experience, preferably in patent prosecution.
  • Strong understanding of Intellectual Property laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
