Job Overview:
A respected law firm in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented and driven mid-level Associate to join its Real Estate Finance team. This opportunity involves working with institutional lenders and handling complex real estate loan transactions, including construction, bridge, and permanent financing. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in deal execution and must be comfortable navigating sophisticated financial structures while collaborating closely with internal teams and clients.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate loan documents for various real estate finance transactions, including construction and permanent loans

• Represent lenders in complex secured financing deals

• Conduct detailed due diligence on real estate assets and borrower entities

• Coordinate and review title, survey, zoning, and other closing deliverables

• Advise clients on structuring, regulatory compliance, and risk management in financing deals

• Collaborate with team members across offices to manage multi-jurisdictional transactions

• Oversee the closing process, including the resolution of legal issues and the preparation of final documentation

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in real estate finance with a focus on lender-side representation

• Demonstrated ability to manage transactions independently and work in a team-oriented environment

• Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills

• High attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to manage transaction workflows

• Member in good standing with the New York State Bar (California Bar admission also considered)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic record preferred

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in New York (or eligibility for admission)

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of commercial real estate and finance principles

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting complex documentation

• Clear and concise communication with clients and legal teams

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment
