Duties:

  • Devise practical solutions for companies subject to FTC jurisdiction and state privacy laws.
  • Focus on ad tech, ed tech, fintech, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, and emerging technologies like IoT, blockchain, and biometrics.
  • Draft privacy, data handling, and cybersecurity policies.
  • Conduct privacy due diligence for deals and other corporate transactions.
  • Assist in cross-border data transactions as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on familiarity with FTC jurisdiction and state privacy laws.
  • Experience in ad tech, ed tech, fintech, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, and emerging technologies.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Comparable law firm experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of practice (Washington, DC preferred).
  • Any additional certifications related to data privacy and cybersecurity are advantageous.
