Job Overview:
A well-established Florida-based defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2.5–5 years of experience defending medical malpractice claims to join its Tampa office. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation from pre-suit (NOI) through trial in a collaborative and professional environment. The role is ideal for attorneys with strong deposition skills and a passion for litigation defense. This position is being recruited on behalf of the firm by a legal recruiting agency.

Location:

  • Tampa, Florida

Duties:

  • Defend medical malpractice claims in state and federal courts throughout Florida

  • Handle litigation from Notice of Intent (NOI) through trial

  • Conduct and defend depositions

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop effective case strategies

  • Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as needed

  • Maintain timely and professional communication with clients

Requirements:

  • 2.5–5 years of experience in medical malpractice defense litigation

  • Proven experience taking and defending depositions

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a litigation caseload

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Florida Bar (required)
