Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dynamic Trial Lawyer specializing in Mass Tort and Catastrophic Injury to join their team in New York City, NY. This role involves leading high-stakes jury trials across the country, focusing on product defects, catastrophic injuries, and other significant legal matters. The position is remote with travel required for trials and firm events.

Duties

  • Lead or co-lead jury trials from voir dire through verdict.
  • Develop safety rules, themes, and story structures with trial teams and consultants.
  • Conduct focus groups and mock trials to refine narratives and frame issues.
  • Cross-examine corporate representatives and expert witnesses.
  • Take and defend high-value depositions with precision and purpose.
  • Oversee trial-day operations: witness prep, exhibit management, jury monitoring.
  • Mentor rising litigators and trial lawyers on persuasion techniques.
  • Contribute to case strategy and national MDL bellwether development.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
  • Minimum six years of litigation experience with multiple jury trials tried to verdict.
  • Exceptional storytelling and advocacy skills-authentic, fearless, and persuasive.
  • Significant experience in product-liability, mass-tort, or catastrophic-injury preferred.
  • Ability to manage teams under pressure and perform in high-stakes settings.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong advocacy and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing high-stakes legal settings.
  • Experience in cross-examining witnesses and conducting depositions.
