Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm seeks a Junior Litigation Personal Injury Attorney to manage personal injury cases from inception to resolution. This role involves evaluating claims, drafting legal documents, and engaging with clients and various stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury case files throughout the entire litigation process.
  • Assess potential personal injury claims and provide informed legal counsel to prospective clients.
  • Draft, review, and revise various legal documents, including claims, motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and demand letters.
  • Conduct legal research on case law and premises liability, and gather pertinent evidence such as insurance policies and medical records.
  • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, and medical providers to collect necessary information.
  • Negotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, depositions, and trials across the state.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and case status updates within the case management system.
  • Oversee a team of paralegals, legal assistants, and case managers to ensure efficient case handling.
  • Manage the work calendar, tracking appointments and court deadlines in compliance with legal procedures.
  • Calculate costs and compensation figures to prepare settlement breakdowns for clients and insurance companies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Licensed and admitted to practice in the New York State Bar.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research tools (experience with Westlaw preferred).
  • Familiarity with case management software (experience with CasePeer preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple case files simultaneously.
  • Team management experience in a legal setting is advantageous.
