A law firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of removal defense, family-based, and humanitarian immigration cases. Responsibilities include representing clients in immigration court proceedings, preparing and litigating applications for relief from removal, and handling family-based immigration matters. Strong written and oral advocacy skills, effective caseload management, and proficiency in Spanish are essential for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of removal defense, family-based, and humanitarian immigration cases.
  • Represent clients in immigration court cases and appeals.
  • Prepare and litigate applications for relief from removal, including asylum, withholding of removal, and cancellation of removal.
  • Handle family-based immigration matters before USCIS, the Department of State, and corresponding consulates.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions and briefs for immigration court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to administrative staff regarding client meetings and case strategy.
  • Counsel clients on their immigration options and determine the best course of action for successful outcomes.
  • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and develop case strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law by the highest court of any state.
  • 2-4 years of relevant legal experience in immigration law.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Effective caseload management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.

 

Education:
