Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Law & Motion Attorney specializing in Wage & Hour Class Action cases to join their team in Oakland, CA. Responsibilities

  • Draft and oppose motions, including class certification and summary judgment.
  • Collaborate with trial attorneys on legal strategies for class action and PAGA cases.
  • Conduct legal research on complex labor law issues.
  • Argue motions and oppositions in court.
  • Analyze deposition transcripts and expert reports for motion work.
  • Participate in meet-and-confers with opposing counsel.
  • Stay updated on labor and employment law developments.

Qualifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Excellence in legal writing, research, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with the California Labor Code and federal wage laws.
  • Experience drafting or opposing dispositive and class certification motions.
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior class action, PAGA, or employment law experience required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
