Job Overview: A law firm in Boston, MA, seeks a Mid-level Patent Associate Attorney to provide patent prosecution services in software and electronics IP across various industries. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent discipline and familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.

Duties:

  • Provide patent prosecution services in software and electronics IP.
  • Handle all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents related to patent prosecution.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective patent strategies.
  • Participate in client meetings and communicate effectively regarding legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Prior firm experience and registration with the USPTO.
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with software and electronics.
  • Experience with health and medicine (preferred).
  • Industry work experience (preferred).
  • Experience with patent litigation (preferred).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

Certifications:

  • Registration with the USPTO.

Skills:

  • Excellent academic record.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.
