A law firm in Richmond is currently searching for a highly qualified Attorney/Civil Litigator with expertise in medical malpractice and civil litigation. The ideal candidate should have first- and second-chair experience, exposure to all aspects of an engaging medical malpractice practice, and a commitment to working in a collegial, team-oriented environment.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving medical malpractice and civil litigation matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and trials.
  • Take a lead role in case management, coordinating with clients, experts, and internal teams.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and ensure effective communication throughout the legal process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney with active Bar membership in Virginia.
  • Proven litigation experience, with a focus on medical malpractice cases.
  • First- and second-chair experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Litigation experience in medical malpractice and civil matters.
  • First- and second-chair experience.
  • Legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Case management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
