A law firm in White Plains, NY, is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in handling employment litigation in federal and state court, EEOC, and NYSDHR. The candidate should have experience developing strategy, drafting pleadings, taking/defending depositions, arguing motions, and providing advice and counsel on workplace compliance and legal issues.

 

Duties:

  • Handle employment litigation matters in federal and state court, EEOC, and NYSDHR.
  • Develop litigation strategy and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions in court.
  • Provide advice and counsel to clients on workplace compliance and legal issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Assist with investigations and discovery.
  • Prepare for and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Work independently on assigned matters and collaborate with partners and other attorneys as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
  • 4+ years of employment law experience.
  • Experience handling employment litigation in federal and state court, EEOC, and NYSDHR.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.

 

Skills:

  • Experience developing litigation strategy.
  • Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to take and defend depositions.
