Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience as a trademark practitioner. The ideal candidate should possess superior analytical skills, exceptional academic credentials, and excellent oral, writing, and interpersonal skills. Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction is required for this position.

Duties:

• Conduct trademark searches and analysis to assess availability and registrability of trademarks.
• Prepare and file trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Manage trademark portfolios, including monitoring and enforcing trademark rights.
• Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, such as licensing and coexistence agreements.
• Assist in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on trademark clearance, protection, and enforcement strategies.
• Conduct legal research on trademark law and related intellectual property issues.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop and implement effective trademark strategies.
• Handle additional trademark-related tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Bar of New York or eligibility for Bar admission via reciprocity.
• 1-3 years of experience as a trademark practitioner, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Strong understanding of trademark law, procedures, and practices.
• Experience conducting trademark searches, preparing applications, and managing trademark portfolios.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in trademark analysis and strategy.
• Superior oral and written communication skills for client communication and legal drafting.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research and analyzing trademark-related issues.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of trademark matters efficiently.
