Job Overview:
A Baton Rouge, LA-based law firm is seeking a mid-level attorney to support its environmental law division. This position involves engagement with regulatory frameworks, litigation support, and environmentally related transactions. The role is best suited for professionals who have between two to six years of relevant legal experience and who are looking to advance within a collaborative, client-driven legal environment.

Duties:

  • Handle legal matters involving environmental regulations at the state and federal levels

  • Assist with due diligence and risk assessment in real estate and corporate transactions involving environmental factors

  • Represent clients in administrative and civil proceedings relating to environmental compliance

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including memos, briefs, and contracts

  • Guide permitting, compliance, and enforcement issues

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in environmental regulatory, transactional, and/or litigation work

  • Demonstrated interest in environmental law and related compliance frameworks

  • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments in a fast-paced setting

  • Commitment to professional development within the field of environmental law

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Academic performance within the top 25% of the graduating class preferred

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Eligibility to become licensed in Louisiana, if not already admitted
