Job Overview:

The Real Estate Associate Attorney will assist with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales, development, leasing, title matters, land use, rights of way, construction contracts, and loan documents. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be team-oriented, and have an excellent academic record.

Duties:

  • Assist in drafting and negotiating commercial real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, leases, and financing documents.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on title matters, land use regulations, and rights of way issues.
  • Review and draft construction contracts.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on various real estate matters.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide timely updates on case progress.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-6 years of experience in real estate law.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a top-tier law firm handling commercial real estate transactions.
  • Ideally, have 2 years of top-tier law firm experience in one or more of the following: commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales, development, and leasing; title, land use, and rights of way; construction contracts; and loan documents.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent academic record from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Alaska or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Alaska State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Familiarity with real estate laws, regulations, and procedures.
