A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney for their Indianapolis, IN office. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in intellectual property litigation.

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in handling all stages of IP litigation, from pre-filing investigations through appeals. This position requires the ability to conduct pre-suit due diligence investigations, manage complex discovery, negotiate discovery matters, handle motions and hearings, take and defend depositions, and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, pre- and post-trial briefings, and appellate briefs.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct pre-suit due diligence investigations in intellectual property cases
  • Manage complex discovery processes and negotiations
  • Handle motions and hearings throughout the litigation process
  • Take and defend depositions effectively
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and pre-and post-trial briefings
  • Prepare appellate briefs for cases that proceed to appeal

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation
  • An undergraduate degree or an advanced degree in a technological or scientific field is preferred
  • Strong academic record demonstrating excellence in relevant coursework
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and writing skills

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field is preferred

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in intellectual property law (if applicable)

Skills:

  • Excellent litigation skills and experience in all stages of IP litigation
  • Proficient in conducting pre-suit due diligence investigations
  • Strong negotiation skills for complex discovery matters
  • Effective deposition skills, both in taking and defending
  • Drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and briefs at various stages of litigation
  • Appellate brief writing skills
