Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 2-5 years of experience for a position based in Council Bluffs, IA.

Job Overview:

The Criminal Defense Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in criminal defense matters, providing legal advice, and advocating for their rights. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of criminal law, and courtroom procedures, and be capable of handling a diverse caseload.

Duties:

• Represent clients in criminal cases, including but not limited to, drug offenses, assault, theft, and white-collar crimes.
• Conduct legal research, analyze case facts, and develop effective defense strategies.
• Attend court hearings, trials, and negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information and build a strong defense.
• Stay informed about changes in criminal laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience as a Criminal Defense Attorney.
• Possession of a valid license in Iowa is a must.
• Willingness to obtain a valid license in Iowa if not already possessed.
• Additional licensing in Nebraska will receive priority consideration.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Iowa.
• Additional licensing in Nebraska is a plus.
