The ideal candidate will possess expertise in engines, transmissions, suspensions, electric drive trains, industrial automation, robotics, pumping technology, and/or consumer products. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is desired for this role.

Job Overview: The Senior Intellectual Property Patent Prosecution Attorney will work closely with partners and clients in patent preparation, prosecution, portfolio management, and clearance matters. The role requires experience or a willingness to mentor junior colleagues. Patent experience in the mechanical and electrical arts will also be considered.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with partners and clients in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Manage patent portfolio and clearance matters.
  • Mentor junior colleagues in patent-related tasks and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering work.
  • Expertise in engines, transmissions, suspensions, electric drive trains, industrial automation, robotics, pumping technology, and/or consumer products.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Patent Bar admission is required.
  • Indiana Bar admission or ability to waive into Indiana required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred).

Certifications:

  • Patent Bar admission.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical arts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues.
  • Proficiency in patent preparation and prosecution processes.
