Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on patent matters, including infringement analysis and patent portfolio management.
  • Draft legal documents, including patent applications, responses to office actions, and legal opinions.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews of intellectual property assets.
  • Keep abreast of developments in patent law and biotechnology.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in a life science field such as biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or immunology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, preferably in biotechnology.
  • Expertise in bioinformatics, chemistry, or materials science is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations, particularly in the United States.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Membership in a state bar association and registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Education:

  • Ph.D. in a life science field such as biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or immunology.
