A law firm in Jacksonville is seeking a 1st Party Litigator. The Litigator will manage a significant caseload throughout the entire legal process, attend various legal proceedings, prepare litigation documents, and maintain client communication. Strong advocacy skills, legal expertise, and technological proficiency are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a substantial caseload from start to finish
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other legal documents
  • Provide timely reports to insurance carriers and clients on case status
  • Develop client relationships through effective communication and relationship-building strategies
  • Travel to different courthouses and locations as needed
  • Meet monthly billing requirements
  • Maintain professionalism in an office setting

 

Requirements:

1-3+ years of experience in first-party property or PIP defense litigation

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Good Standing Membership with the Florida Bar

 

Skills and Certifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in first-party property claims and/or PIP litigation
  • Expertise in all phases of litigation from pleadings to trial
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions
  • Strong oral advocacy and writing skills
  • Case evaluation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Technological confidence in using process management systems and available technology
