Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to join its nationally recognized Banking & Finance practice. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of law firm experience representing lenders and borrowers in a wide array of financing transactions. This opportunity offers the chance to work on private credit, syndicated loans, and growth capital financings across both domestic and international markets.

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Represent borrowers and lenders in a variety of complex financing transactions

  • Handle private credit deals, syndicated credit facilities, and growth capital investments

  • Draft and negotiate financing documentation and related legal agreements

  • Coordinate with cross-office legal teams on both U.S. and international deals

  • Deliver high-quality legal counsel aligned with client business objectives

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience at a law firm in banking and finance matters

  • Proven ability to manage sophisticated financing deals and related documentation

  • Strong client service mindset and professional communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

  • Must be a member of the Bar in at least one U.S. state

  • Must meet the practice requirements of the applicable jurisdiction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing of a U.S. state bar

  • Eligibility to practice law in the office location or jurisdiction of employment

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of lending structures and financing instruments

  • Advanced drafting and negotiation capabilities
