A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Civil Rights Attorney who will be responsible for all stages of civil rights litigation from case intake to trial, under the supervision of a senior attorney. Preferred candidates will have experience in discrimination work and/or criminal defense.

 

Duties:

  • Manage all stages of civil rights litigation, from case intake to trial
  • Work collaboratively with a senior attorney to develop case strategies
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on constitutional law and civil liberties issues
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations
  • Juggle multiple cases and projects effectively
  • Meet litigation deadlines and manage a fast-paced schedule
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties
  • Exercise good judgment under stressful conditions
  • Provide diligent and professional representation to vulnerable clients who have suffered injustice

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Law license in any state, or D.C., with the ability to waive or transfer the license into Colorado and the federal District of Colorado within three months of hire
  • 1+ years of experience in plaintiff's civil litigation
  • Substantial knowledge of constitutional law and civil liberties
  • Ability to litigate independently and collaboratively
  • Strong research, writing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, diligence, and professionalism in a demanding legal environment

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Law license in any state, or D.C., with the ability to waive or transfer the license into Colorado and the federal District of Colorado within three months of hire
